Pixel Shaders
I've been doing some work with pixel shaders.

I'll try to get this rolled up with the slopes for a new downloadable version this weekend.

Re: Pixel Shaders
Ta,
I'm currently working on a few tools to ease the management of the extra sets of textures i now have for each tile. I now have a coloured specular map, a heightmap and a normal map on top of the normal colour map.
I've got the compression pretty much nailed and am taking the opportunity to revamp all my tiles at 1024x1024 pixels each. This pushes the total tex memory requirement to 500 megabytes but this will be the top end of the detail spectrum, with players able to select lower settings.
I have shadow bump mapping with specular and parallax mapping going on and it looks quite good close up, especially with the high rez textures.
One thing i've learnt is develop your art assets at higher resolution than you think you will need. You can always scale down
Here's an image of a close up of a block in game currently at highest rez.

I have a quick question, are the controls ever going to be a bit simplified so I don't have to right click to move the camera? I find that king of tedious to do, especially if I were to play the game on a touch pad.

Re: Pixel Shaders
Player movement will be getting worked on very soon. It's a consequence of the slopes. So i will be fixing the collisions and will also take a look at controls too.
